Chances are, you still remember the first time you rode a bike on your own. You remember the feeling of learning something new, understanding it and succeeding at it. You couldn’t wait to brag about it to your friends, and then have them try out that “new” experience so you could have fun riding together. With the CycleOps Power Training System, you are going to learning how to ride a bike again.
Indoor cycling is not new. The underlying training principles of indoor cycling are not new. However, the way we use technology to redefine indoor cycling and enhance everyone’s experience is new. CycleOps PowerTap power measurement takes your knowledge of indoor cycling and adds a new dimension. The CycleOps Power Training System teaches people how to work out more effectively, shows them the effort that they are putting in to turning over the pedals, and helps them track their progress to reach their fitness goals. all while having fun in the bike. That’s what the CycleOps Power Training System is all about; utilizing the most cutting edge biometric feedback, technology and science, partnered with a comprehensive education program as well as user-friendly software to give you hard numbers that you can watch improve over time.
The CycleOps Power Training System is used by elite athletes and cycling enthusiasts worldwide. Reknowned Exercise Physiologist, Allen Lim, PhD and Indoor Cycling pioneer Angie Sturtevant created the fundamental theories behind the CycleOps Power Training System. They took the proven formula for success in the outdoor world and brought it into the Indoor Cycling realm.
The CycleOps Power Training System offers the tools you need to win; both in the race and in life.
Science
SCIENCE. Allen Lim, PhD, is a prominent exercise physiologist who has developed training programs for professional cyclists around the world. His work led to a new training philosophy around measuring power - the only true and accurate measure of the effort you put into a workout. His work forms the core of the CycleOps Power Training System.
By monitoring both the power (dose) and the resulting heart rate or perceived exertion (response), you see both sides of the "fitness equation." So you get a more complete picture of how effective a workout is than if you simply look at heart rate or cadence.
Technology
TECHNOLOGY. Eight strain guages in the hub of the flywheel provide +/- 1.5% accuracy, on the industry’s first power measuring indoor cycle. By measuring torque and velocity, CycleOps Power is able to show true effort on the bike. Power (Watts) = Torque (In-Lbs) x Cadence (RPM)
The CycleOps Club Pro 300PT is the only power-measuring indoor cycle on the market that offers real biometric workout feedback.
USB stick captures ride data for post-ride analysis.
Backlit console shows power in watts, cadence, KJ (energy) and HR (compatible with major 3rd party HR straps).
Software
SOFTWARE. The CycleOps Power Training System includes comprehensive post-ride analysis PowerAgent software that meets the needs of trainers and members alike.
PowerAgent software allows your members to view and analyze their rides, as well as to define power and HR zones for training.
